Mike Hodges (Joint Chair of trustees) can be seen receiving a magnificent cheque for £1,160 from Joan Crompton, last year’s Ladies’ Captain of the Walhampton Golf Club. Joan is accompanied by Eve Ritchie-Fallon who is the current Ladies’ Captain at Walhampton.
“I adopted Lymington Hospital as my Captain’s charity of the year. The ladies’ section held golf competitions, a coffee morning, a ‘socially distanced’ raffle and the members added their own donations to raise the funds over my year as Captain. Eve and I are pleased to make this donation in person after completing an enjoyable round of golf in the sunshine.”
“Having taken over from Joan as Ladies’ Captain, I’m delighted to continue to support Lymington Hospital as the Captain’s charity again this year. Joan has set a challenging target for me and my fellow club members to shoot at to following a year of fundraising for the hospital.”
Mike accepted the cheque on behalf of the Friends, adding:
“We appreciate the very generous donation from Walhampton Ladies Golfers, and this will enable the purchase of a Vein Finder to assist doctors and nurses scan patients’ skin to find veins more easily. Thank you for continuing to support our ongoing ‘Patient Care Appeal’ this year.”
We work closely with the hospital to improve the care and wellbeing of patients, above and beyond what the NHS can fund and provide, with invaluable support from fundraising with local people and businesses.
